FURNITURE COLLABORATION
Atelierluer, Charlie Hellstern Studio, and Brume present a collaborative collection that interprets Pacific Northwest tradition through a contemporary, crafted lens. Designed and built in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, the collection brings together Atelierluer’s campaign furniture heritage, Charlie Hellstern Studio’s refined form language, and Brume’s material sensibility to create pieces that feel both grounded and quietly modern.
Wood and finish Poplar was chosen for its warm undertones and versatility. Each piece is finished with a summer brushing technique: the softer grain is mechanically lifted and removed, producing an irregular yet tactile surface that reads matte and worn while remaining smooth to the touch. The result is a subtle interplay of texture and tone that echoes coastal weathering and the region’s layered landscapes.
Design language Lines are restrained and purposeful. Foldable leg systems and modular proportions nod to Atelierluer’s TRAMA heritage, while Charlie Hellstern’s attention to silhouette and detail refines the profile. Brume’s influence is evident in material choices and finishes that emphasize authenticity and longevity. Together the partners emphasize adaptable scale and quiet presence—pieces that sit comfortably in contemporary homes and tailored interiors alike.
Craftsmanship and intention Each object is hand-assembled and finished in small batches, allowing for meticulous joinery and a consistent summer-brushed surface. The collaboration prioritizes sustainable sourcing, measured material use, and durability—furniture meant to be lived with and passed on.
Use and context The collection suits living rooms, studies, and entryways where understated craftsmanship is valued. Its restrained palette and tactile finish pair easily with leather, wool, and natural stone, while the foldable and modular elements accommodate evolving spatial needs.
A balanced study of region, material, and making, this collaboration celebrates Pacific Northwest heritage through pieces designed to age elegantly and feel quietly at home.
